This condition is marked by the presence of pain on the inside of the elbow, or pain when gripping and lifting an item such as a briefcase. Golfer's elbow is much like tennis elbow, where even resting one's arm can cause serious pain and discomfort.
Doctor's Treatment Plan
When the injury is acute, i.e. it just happened, it is easier to treat. Treatment consists of reducing swelling, fitting the patient with a sportsbrace and then prescribing a regimen of exercises and muscular re-education.
In the case of an ongoing chronic aggravation, i.e. more than 2 months, the treatment is more extensive and in extreme cases, may lead to surgery.
