Ligament Injuries
Many ligament injuries of the knee are simple pulls. They are commonly referred to as a “sprained knee.” Knee sprains respond very well to our conservative rehabilitation. If a ligament is stretched beyond its elastic limits, it can tear or rupture. In these cases, we provide MRI prescription and referral for surgical consultation.
Doctor's Treatment Plan
The treatment consists of therapeutic strengthening exercises, and stretches, for a more functional range of motion. Physiotherapies, including ultrasound, are utilized to reduce any swelling and/or inflammation. Home exercises to increase the patient’s balance
and proprioception are prescribed to help prevent future injuries. |
