Osteoporosis is a reduction in bone mass that can cause fractures. It occurs predominantly in postmenopausal females. This condition often requires a multidisciplinary approach to care. Proper exercise and a nutritional consultation are paramount in a treatment plan.
Doctor's Treatment Plan
Treatment consists of identifying areas of risk for fracture. Additionally, the doctors will provide the patient with a safe exercise program that will enhance bone and joint strength. Nutritional advice will be given to ensure the patient has the correct diet to help maintain strong bones.
Note: It should always be considered that not all injuries are spinal related, and therefore not all injuries can be fully corrected with the benefit of chiropractic medicine. Further, the injury profiles and recommendations for treatment should in no way be used as a substitute for the care of a physician.
