This can be congenital or traumatic in origin. It is a slippage of a vertebra, usually in the lower back. It causes a deep low back pain that is difficult to relieve. If the vertebra continues to slip it can fracture; a condition known as spondylolysis.
Doctor's Treatment Plan
Treatment consists of reducing the pain and inflammation to the specific vertebrae. This is accomplished through using electric muscle stimulation to relax the spasming muscles. In addition, we use Flexion-traction tables designed to specifically reduce the pressure on the vertebrae and to give it proper motion.
Note: It should always be considered that not all injuries are spinal related, and therefore not all injuries can be fully corrected with the benefit of chiropractic medicine. Further, the injury profiles and recommendations for treatment should in no way be used as a substitute for the care of a physician.
